REFERRALS
Whilst exercising in warm water is safe and effective for most people, unfortunately it is not suitable for everyone.
“Aquatic Physio Ireland” accepts referrals from medical doctors (consultants and GP’s), physiotherapists and allied healthcare professionals who feel exercising in water would be of benefit to you. Self-referrals are also welcome. All individuals will be screened for suitability prior to commencing any aquatic physiotherapy programme. If a question of suitability arises during the screening process, a letter from your GP confirming your medical suitability may be required.
CLASS
Each aquatic physiotherapy treatment programme consists of 10 weekly exercise classes. Each weekly session lasts 60 minutes and consists of stretching exercises, strengthening exercises, core stability exercises, balance/coordination retraining and aerobic exercises. Each class is tailored to your individual needs and capabilities, with a view to maximizing the potential benefits to you. Class sizes are small to ensure individual attention. Classes are suitable for swimmers and non-swimmers alike. You will not be asked to put your head underwater.
